Escape the everyday with a home away from home
Run by Laura and James Davenport, Ivywood Cottage is medieval in age, but contemporary in design, with luxurious finishes and fine detailing. Set in a picturesque rural setting that was once part of the Gawdy Hall Estate, it sits next to a beautiful 15th century church within a 3 acre church yard. With quirky touches and careful attention to detail, it's the holiday cottage you'll never want to leave.
About the cottage
Ivywood sleeps 6 (2 double bedrooms and an optional 3rd bedroom with a sofa bed). One of the bedrooms has an en-suite WC with a separate family bathroom downstairs with a roll top bath. Guests have complete privacy and access to their own secluded garden. There is also complimentary wifi, towels, linen and private parking.
The local area
Harleston and Bungay are quintessential English towns with charming independent stores, local delis, bakeries, Adnams cellar and kitchen store, family butchers, fishmonger, greengrocer, restaurants, pubs, antiques stores, bistro cafes and tea shops. There are also beautiful weekly markets. If you crave seaside air, then the cottage is a short and picturesque drive to the coastal gems of Southwold and Aldeburgh. The city of Norwich and the bustling town of Beccles (the start of the Norfolk Broads) are also short drives away.
